State Police Get Rifle-Proof Vests

West Virginia State Police will have new body armor. Walmart and the Snowshoe Foundation turned over a $20,000 check to State Police this week to purchase about 40 bulletproof vests that will stop rifle bullets. The vests that stop rifle bullet penetration are too heavy to be worn constantly but could be deployed when trouble is expected. Vests for about 400 troopers may cost as much as $180,000. State Police say they will continue working to raise funds to purchase the vests for everyone.
