Several roads were closed on the East End Monday after bricks fell from the façade of a building. Washington Street East was closed between Maxwell and Sydney streets, and Elizabeth Street was closed between Lee and Jackson streets. The city said an old restaurant on the corner of Washington and Elizabeth streets is structurally unsound and will be torn down after an evaluation by an engineer. The closures are expected to last at least a week.
