Hospitals Add Restrictions on Visitors

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources said the state’s public health lab has processed 39 tests, one of those tests is pending and the rest were negative.

Charleston Area Medical Center is instituting restrictions on visitations at all of its hospitals, as well as closing all entrances except the main entrance and/or the emergency department. Patients can have one visitor at a time, and the visitor must be essential to the care of the patient – for example, a parent, spouse or caregiver. Visitation will only be allowed from noon to 6 p.m. Thomas Health and West Virginia University Medicine have also implemented restrictions on patient visitations. Both are allowing just one visitor per patient at a time.
