Meal Service for Students Will Continue

The West Virginia Department of Education said Monday that the majority of counties in the state continue to provide meals for students, although some counties may have altered the plans on how they are feeding kids. State School Superintendent Clayton Burch sent a letter to superintendents Sunday to offer guidance on a variety of options available to meet the needs of children in their counties. Kanawha County Schools stopped its bagged meal service but has resumed. The superintendent’s guidance included suggestions that counties use staff and volunteer support and assistance from food vendors and the foods service industry.
