The West Virginia Legislature passed its budget bill Saturday evening, hours before the end of the legislative session. The budget includes complete funding for changes to the state’s foster care program. The full $16.9 million in funding is included, along with $20 million in funding to eliminate the waitlist for the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Waiver – something Gov. Justice demanded being in the budget bill. The general revenue budget is about $4.6 billion.
