Governor Outlines Necessary Steps to Resume Hospital Electives

Gov. Jim Justice is outlining what hospitals must do to restart elective medical procedures. The earliest hospitals will be able to restart elective medical procedures would be Tuesday, April 28, and that’s if hospitals have a plan in place to safely phase-in procedures based on clinical judgement, while following CDC guidelines. They must also have adequate inventories of personal protective equipment and a plan to respond if there is a surge of COVID-19 patients in the future. The governor said the move to get hospitals back to normal operations is the key to restarting the economy.
