Huntington Mayor Steve Williams announced he is appointing Interim Police Chief Ray Cornwell to serve in the position permanently. Cornwell was selected as interim chief Dec. 16, 2019, when then-police chief Hank Dial was named city manager. Chief Cornwell has led the effort to adjust to new 12-hour work shifts which has increased the number of officers patrolling our neighborhoods.
