U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin called for Congress to approve more funding after the government’s paycheck protection loan program for small business ran out of money. Manchin said Congress must act quickly invest more funding into the PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) to protect small businesses and health-care providers, In an analysis of PPP funds approved for distribution, the Mountain State ranked 45th out of 50 states. Manchin said many of the state’s rural hospitals are struggling to stay afloat and they need to be able to be eligible to apply for SBA loans.
