City Workers in Morgantown Will Test a Four-Day Work Week

Most Morgantown city employees will soon begin a four-day workweek with 10-hour days to give workers a chance to spend more time with their families and to offer extended hours to the public. The pilot program will begin July 6. Employees will work four 10-hour days each week from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and city administrative offices will be closed on Fridays. The city said the idea of a focused workweek was proposed by city staff as a way to save costs, improve employee productivity and help create a better work/life balance in employees’ lives.
