Safer-at-Home Order Will Go Into Effect Monday

Gov. Jim Justice said he will lift the stay-at-home order and issue a safer-at-home order that goes into effect Monday. The new order strongly encourages residents to remain at home but no longer orders them to stay at home. West Virginians have been under a stay-at-home order since March 24. The “West Virginia Strong: The Comeback” plan calls for everything in the second phase to include physical distancing, sanitization and face coverings. The governor said the trend for the state’s positive COVID-19 test percentage is 2.51% compared to the amount of tests given, but he still urged residents to remain cautious as they move forward.
