West Virginia’s total of positive COVID-19 cases increased by six Wednesday morning. The state Department of Health and Human Resources said the state had a total of 1,248 positive cases as of 10 a.m. Wednesday. DHHR officials said the death toll remained at 50. West Virginia’s positive test rate result remained under 3%, the benchmark Gov. Jim Justice used to start reopening the state’s economy in phases. Wednesday morning’s rate was at 2.24%.
