Charleston will be closing a section of Kanawha Boulevard on weekends to provide a safe area to exercise and to get outdoors. Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin said the Boulevard will be closed from Court to Greenbrier streets each Sunday in June and July. All lanes will close at 7 a.m. and reopen at 8 p.m. The mayor said the closure is to allow social distancing space for those who are looking for safe areas for walking, biking and running. Goodwin stressed that this is not being done so that folks can congregate.
