Transit Agencies Face a Bus Driver Shortage

There is a bus driver shortage throughout the region, and transit directors said it could be due to COVID-19. Tri River Transit is down 10 drivers. It covers Lincoln, Boone, Mason, Logan and Wayne counties. Executive Director Paula Smith said the shortage happened when the pandemic began. WCHS TV reported social distancing on small busses has been tough, with only four to six people able to ride at a time. Tri River’s buses come with a clear shower curtain to protect the driver and services continue to adapt.
