Boone County prosecutors drop kidnapping case after Supreme Court orders a new trial

Boone County prosecutors say they were essentially forced to dismiss kidnapping charges against Kevin Woodrum in a high profile torture case after the West Virginia Supreme Court ordered a new trial. The High Court ruled that jury instructions during Woodrum’s original trial were incomplete, and they had no choice, but to reverse the decision. Woodrum is still in jail on two other charges, but is now eligible for parole.
