The last thing hospitals need right now is to be overwhelmed with flu patients. To avoid a bad flu season, the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department is encouraging everyone to get a flu shot. COVID-19 and the flu are two viruses with similar symptoms. Dr. Sherri Young with the KCHD said thousands of flu shots are on their way and getting your flu shot will be essential in separating the two diseases over next few months. The health department will be making flu shots readily available at COVID-19 testing sites so people can take care of both at the same time.
