Kanawha County public school students will not be charged for breakfast or lunch again this school year. The meals are covered through a program called the Community Eligibility Provision, which is as an alternative to collecting, approving and verifying household eligibility applications for free- and reduced-price eligible students in high-poverty areas. Kanawha County Schools say if a school has at least 40% of its student population eligible for free meals, the whole school becomes eligible.
