Myrtle Beach is always a big tourist destination for visitors from West Virginia, but in 2020 there have been big concerns over COVID-19. As Labor Day approaches, there are reports that fewer travelers are headed to the beach. Most hotels and resorts in Myrtle Beach are open with health protocols in place, and numbers from Horry County show cases have edged back down. The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce just launched a new marketing plan that they expect to carry through the fall when beaches are expected to be less crowded. The marketing campaign will target those within driving distance.
