The Charleston Police Department hasn’t been operating at full capacity lately. At least sixteen officers will need to be added to have a full staff, and the department is recruiting now. The pandemic has changed the way the department recruits officers, with less personal interaction, but the hiring process is still important. Charleston police are holding two recruiting events next month — on Nov. 7 and Nov. 21. Both events will be physical ability and written tests in the same day.
