Driver is Rescued After Chestnut Street Accident

Kanawha County deputies rescued a driver out of a vehicle Tuesday morning after it drove over a hillside in Jefferson. It happened in the 1400 block of Chestnut Street and the vehicle slid down an embankment. When deputies arrived at the scene, the driver had a head injury and wasn’t coherent. The vehicle was against a tree, but on the verge of slipping and rolling farther down the hill. The driver was eventually rescued with the help of a rope and a deputy risking his own safety to get into the vehicle and help pull the driver out. The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
