Leaf Collection Begins Next Week in Charleston

Charleston residents are encouraged to begin collecting fallen leaves and to leave them curbside on their normal trash day. The city of Charleston said there is not a limit to the amount of bags that will be collected during trash pickup. Monday, Oct. 26, will be the start of supplemental loose leaf collection. Leaves must be raked to the edge of the street to be picked up, but if they are raked into alleyways, they will not be collected. Loose leaf collection will be Monday and Tuesday for Kanawha City, Wednesday and Thursday for South Hills, and on Friday for the West Side, North Charleston and the East End.
