Putnam County sheriff’s deputies cracked down last week on speeders in a construction zone on U.S. 35. Fifty-four speeding citations were issued Monday, Oct. 19, through Sunday, Oct. 25, on the highway and Shamrock Road in Fraziers Bottom, according to a news release from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. A speed limit of 40 mph is posted in the construction zone. The lowest citation speed was 45 mph, and the highest citation speed was 79 mph.
