As COVID case numbers rise, hospitalizations have increased. Figures in the middle of this week showed 76 patients with coronavirus being treated in Kanawha County hospitals. A record number of virus patients are being treated throughout the state. Charleston Area Medical Center as of Wednesday had 62 inpatients with 20 in the intensive care unit and seven on ventilators. Officials said that things are OK right now with hospital capacity, but could quickly get out of hand if things get worse.
