Election Results Announced for State Races

For Secretary of State, Incumbent Republican Mac Warner has been declared the winner over Democrat Natalie Tennant. In the Attorney General’s race, Incumbent Republican Patrick Morrisey defeated Democrat Sam Brown Petsonk. For the West Virginia House of Delegates, Republicans Alex Mooney, Carol Miller, and David McKinley won seats.

Mike Rutherford has been elected for his fourth term as sheriff, after first being elected to the position in 2004.

In Huntington, Democrat Steve Williams unofficially defeated Republican challenger Scott Caserta for mayor.

Riley Moore, a Republican from Jefferson County, has won the race for state Treasurer against six-term incumbent John Perdue. Perdue has served as Treasurer since 1997. Republicans will now make up the entire Board of Public Works which represents elected positions in the state’s executive branch.
