Former WV Supreme Court Justice Passes Away

Former West Virginia Supreme Court justice Richard Neely has passed away. A spokesperson said Neely died at his home in Charleston on Sunday of recently diagnosed liver cancer. He was 79. Neely ran unsuccessfully for Supreme Court for a Division 1 seat in the May primary. He was a partner with the Charleston law firm Neely & Callaghan. Neely retired from the court in 1995 after serving 22 years on the bench, with four terms as chief justice.
