Putnam moved from orange to gold, joining other gold counties Kanawha and Cabell on the latest West Virginia alert system map. Mingo County remained as the only red county in the state on the DHHR map. Nine counties were in orange including Lincoln, Fayette, and Nicholas. Eleven counties were in gold including Kanawha, Putnam, Cabell, Wayne, and Boone.
