The union voted overwhlemingly on Friday to reject a contract offer from Kroger and approved a strike. Kroger workers have raised concerns about long hours and COVID risks with exposure to customers who don’t wear masks. Kroger offered raises for employees and proposed spending $99 million on health care over the three-year contract . Kroger corporate leaders said they are disappointed the offer was not accepted. A strike has been authorized, but not planned. If there is a strike, Kroger plans to keep stores operating.
