Charleston Area Medical Center has reduced elective procedures at its hospitals by 50% due to an increase in patients. A hospital spokesperson said Monday that CAMC continues to see an increase in patients that need ICU care, but it’s not necessarily due to COVID. CAMC has occasionally reduced some procedures throughout the pandemic as the need for beds increased.
