Forty counties were in red or orange in the latest West Virginia county alert system map. State Department of Health and Human Resources’ officials posted the map Tuesday based on Monday’s data. Kanawha, Putnam and Cabell counties remained in orange. The county alert system map released by the DHHR is a daily snapshot of how each county is doing.
