Eight counties were in red on the county alert system map Monday and that’s three more than the previous day. The state Department of Health and Human Resources map showed Kanawha County in yellow, while Putnam County stayed in orange and Cabell County in gold. Fifteen counties were in orange including Putnam, Wayne, Boone, and Nicholas. Eight counties were in gold including Cabell, Mingo, and Fayette. The key map for schools and high school athletics will come out Saturday, Dec. 4, at 5 p.m. The county alert system map is a daily snapshot of how each county is doing.
