Attorney disbarred for attempting to barter services for sex

A West Virginia attorney is being disbarred for attempting to barter his services in a woman’s divorce case for sex. The West Virginia Supreme Court annulled McGinnis Hatfield’s license to practice law. The case dates back to 2013 when McGinnis visited a gentleman’s club and met a dance. She filed a complaint alleging that she asked Hatfield to represent her in a divorce, but he asked for sex because she couldn’t afford his fee.
