Political activist Howard Swint burned a confederate flag near the General Stonewall Jackson statue on the Statehouse grounds. He said seeing the Confederate flag displayed during the riots at the U.S. Capitol spurred him to act. The demonstration started peaceful, but became heated when Swint drew a crowd, and hea and another man were separated by state police.
