Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Closes Its Main Office

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said it has closed its main office over COVID-19 exposures. Sheriff Ross Mellinger said they have folks coming off of quarantine and other folks going into quarantine, and some positive cases so they’ve closed the office to in-person visits. All working deputies will continue to respond to calls normally. Following the decision to close the sheriff’s office, the Jackson County Commission decided to close the county courthouse to the public.
