Kanawha County High Schools Can Resume In-Person Learning Tuesday

High schools in thirty-one West Virginia counties can resume in-person learning Jan. 19 after coming in orange or better in the state’s county alert system map. Gov. Jim Justice announced a plan earlier this month that would allow students in pre-K through eighth grade attend in-person classes regardless of the county’s map color, while high schools could attend as long as the county is not red. The state had 23 counties in orange Saturday, including Kanawha, Putnam, Cabell, Wayne, Jackson, Roane, Logan, Wyoming, and Greenbrier. Six counties were in gold including Fayette and Clay.
