Kenova Police Warn of Impersonations

The Kenova Police Department is investigating two incidents involving people impersonating police officers. The first happened on New Year’s Eve and the second happened last Wednesday night, but right now police do not have a reason to believe they are connected. Police have identified, located and have spoken with the suspect in the most recent incident that happened on Route 75 in the Kenova area, but no charges have been filed. Kenova Police Chief Bob Sullivan said that on Wednesday night, a college student was driving when a Toyota Tacoma truck pulled up behind him and turned on what he thought were police lights. In the incident on New Year’s Eve, a man knocked on someone’s door in a residential area pretending to be an officer. Both incidents are still under investigation.
