Appalachian Power officials extended the time for the expected restoration of service for customers in Wayne, Cabell, Jackson, Lincoln, Mason and Putnam counties. They now say it may not be until 10 p.m. Friday that power is fully restored. More than 19,000 Appalachian Power customers remained without service as of 8:35 a.m. Tuesday, according to the power company’s website.
At one point after storms last week, 97,000 customers in West Virginia were without service. The power company said damage from the two ice storms was “massive and unprecedented.”
