Puppies Abandoned in Boone County Will Have New Homes

A couple of Boone County deputies were in the right place at the right time Monday afternoon when they found five abandoned puppies on the side of the road on Route 119. Sgt. Bill Browning and Cpl. Daniel Cottrell were on their way back to Boone County when Browning thought he spotted two puppies on the side of the road. The deputies stopped and found a litter of five puppies, no more than four weeks old. After taking them to Danville Animal Clinic, workers there said the puppies were in perfect health. They think the puppies are a Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix. The puppies have all been claimed and will be heading to their forever homes soon but, deputies are still looking for whoever left them on the side of the road. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
