The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is looking for men and women interested in becoming deputies. Applications have to be in by March 5 to be invited to test on March 20th, and the sheriff’s office said there is a 5,000 hiring bonus for certified officers. The entry-level probationary salary for non-certified officers ranges from about $40,000 to $44,000 per year, with about five thousand more for certified officers.
