More charges have been filed in connection with an ongoing water theft investigation in Boone County. Warrants were served Friday charging Richard Workman of Danville with procuring water with intent to defraud and tampering with pipes and conductors, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page. Earlier in March, the sheriff’s office announced it was working with West Virginia American Water Co. and conducting an investigation involving water meter and water thefts. The sheriff’s office said then that the investigation led to charges against seven people – five of whom had been arrested and two who were being sought on warrants – for allegedly receiving stolen property, procuring water or tampering with utilities.
