Charleston City Council passes anti-discrimination measure

Charleston City Council passed an anti-discrimination measure called the CROWN Act. Certain hair styles that are often associated with race, like braids and twists, are protected under the resolution.

City Council also passed a nearly one-hundred-million-dollar budget for fiscal year 2021-2022. City leaders say there will be no new taxes, no job cuts, and no cuts to city services.
