Two people died and a third was taken to the hospital after a fire in Roane County early Saturday morning. Two bystanders were able to open the front door and get a man and woman out of the house along Ripley Road near Spencer. The woman is expected to recover, but the male victim pulled from the fire died at the scene, according to WCHS TV. Another male found in the debris also passed away. Seven people usually live in the home, but four were not there at the time of the fire, according to the state fire marshal’s office. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
