St. Francis Hospital is Closing Its COVID Surge Center

The COVID-19 surge facility at St. Francis Hospital in Charleston is closing. The decision is based on a decreasing number of COVID-19 positive patients admitted to healthcare facilities across the state. Thomas Health, Gov. Jim Justice and the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources announced the decision to close the surge facility saying it’s no longer necessary as a response to the pandemic.
