West Virginia Has Unreported COVID Deaths

West Virginia has had 168 coronavirus-related deaths that were previously unreported, and Gov. Jim Justice said he will have state officials investigate. There were 30 unreported deaths in Kanawha County. The governor said half of the unreported deaths came from hospitals. Other unreported deaths came from homes, nursing homes, and correctional facilities. Justice said he planned to honor the 168 people who died from COVID and cases were previously unreported on Friday. The governor also announced that one of the state’s COVID-19-vaccine call handlers has been removed from that position for not answer questions properly.
