A man who was being sought after leaving home confinement earlier this year was taken into custody after a vehicle and foot pursuit Tuesday. Brian Smith of South Charleston was arrested after deputies responded to a suspicious behavior call on Scarberry Lane near South Charleston. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said Smith fled from the deputy in a vehicle, then left the vehicle and ran into a wooded area along Mudsuck Branch Road. K-9 Paco eventually tracked Smith through the woods and deputies took him into custody.
