Olcott Water Project Needs More Signups

A multimillion dollar water project is in the works in Kanawha County, bringing public water service to an area that has never had it. The county needs more people to get on board in the Olcott area before it can break ground. WCHS TV reported the $7 million water project is in the works with the help of federal aid money. The project aims to bring public service water and 27 fire hydrants to the area which will lower insurance rates. If residents sign up before construction begins, a $300 tap fee is waived. To keep the project on track, 145 households need to sign up. Right now, the county has 94 signatures. If you live in the Olcott area and are interested in signing up, you’re asked to call the Kanawha County Commission.
