Charleston Police have released the name of the man shot in the 1400 block of 3rd Avenue Tuesday night. Police said they found 37-year old Gary L. Martin of Charleston lying on the ground between two homes around 10:00 p.m. Martin said he was in the back yard of a home when he heard a gunshot and he ran toward 3rd Ave. while the gunman continued to shoot at him. Martin was shot once in the arm and twice in the leg. He was taken to the hospital and is stable.
