Demolition Will Make Way for a New Ammunition Facility

The groundbreaking is still a couple of weeks away, but demolition has begun on a new ammunition plant in Montgomery. Crews are tearing down the old Montgomery High School to make way for the new facility, but two wings of the old school will be saved along with the gym. Some of the bricks and debris from demolition will be used to fill in the old swimming pool. The ammunition facility, owned by Ranger Scientific, is expected to bring hundreds of jobs to the upper Kanawha Valley. After demolition, the groundbreaking will happen on June 1.
