The city of Huntington and the Cabell County Commission filed a lawsuit in 2017 against AmerisourceBergen, Cardinal Health and McKesson, alleging the companies created a public nuisance with their opioid pill distribution in the county. The trial started yesterday before U.S. District Court Senior Judge David Faberat the federal courthouse in Charleston. WCHS TV reported the first four witnesses were a physician, a historian, former state public health officer Rahul Gupta and Huntington Fire Chief Jan Rader. No word yet how long the trial may take.
