Kanawha County Plans Smaller Vaccination Clinics Moving Forward

The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department is working on holding smaller vaccine clinics throughout the county. The large scale clinics allowed it to vaccinate thousands at a time, getting the numbers up when the vaccine first came out, but it wanted to focus on those who many not have had a chance to get the vaccine. Dr. Sherri Young told WCHS TV that they’re going to refocus on smaller groups of 50, 60 or 100 people at a time to get closer to the goal of having 70 percent of the population vaccinated. The heath department is looking at holding other clinics in the next few weeks in Sissonville and Clendenin. On Friday, May 7, the health department is holding a vaccine clinic for those with autism and other development disorders.
