Nine new officers have joined the Huntington police force. The city held a swearing-in ceremony for the new probationary police officers Monday , and that brings the department’s staffing to 98 officers. The new officers will start their training May 17, which will include 10 weeks of in-house training and 10 weeks at the State Police Academy. Then each officer will complete 12 weeks of supervised field training. The Huntington Police department is accepting applications for the next testing period, which begins Aug. 28.
