An Athens County, Ohio, firefighter died in the line of duty. Jeff Armes was a senior firefighter for the Nelsonville Division of Fire, and his department said he collapsed and died at the scene of a fire Sunday. The Nelsonville fire department was responding to a fire on Pleasantview Avenue when Armes collapsed. EMS administered CPR, and Armes was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
